- Go to the Connection Configuration Interface
- In the "Add new Cloud/System Connection" form underneath the connections list, add in a name for your new connection and select "Salesforce.com" as the "External System Type". Click "Add".
- The next screen is titled "Add New Connection". Here you will need to select an application link for the connection. Select the link you created previously in the drop down list or go through the process again if you click "Add new Application Link" next to the drop down list. In the following example screen, we are using the "Development Salesforce" application link created previously, also the same name as the connection. Click "Add".
- You will then be presented with two options: use a wizard or click to go back to the connections list. For the purposes of this section, we will go for the latter. To view information about the wizard, see Configuration Wizard.
- The new connection should now be displayed on the "Cloud Connections" list. Note that in the "Actions" column you can activate the Wizard if you wish.
Adding an Application Link
| Note The default Application Links interface has been replicated as part of the connector as the default interface was not accessible to all JIRA administrators. Application Links can still be added through the default interface but this documentation will focus on the connector interface. For details on adding application links through the default interface please see http://confluence.atlassian.com/x/yJHlDQ. |
- After clicking "Manage Application links" in Step 3 above a new window or tab will open in your browser displaying the connector's Application Links interface.
- Below the list of configured Application Links is a form to add a new Link. Fill in the details of the connection as in the example below (with your Salesforce instance name in place of "customwaretest") and click Add.
- You will now see your new Application Link in the list of configured Application Links, however under the Authentication column it will say "Not Configured".
- Authentication now needs to be configured so that JIRA can talk to Salesforce. In the Actions column of the new link, click "Configure Authentication" and add in the Salesforce username and password.
- Click "Update". The link will now show "Configured" in the Authentication column.
