The following documentation is valid for JIRA 5.x and Salesforce-JIRA Connector 5.1+ (upcoming).

If you would like early access to the Remote Issue Links feature, please see the Early Access Program.

Configuring Remote Issue Links

This feature will work straight out of the box, however you may wish to limit the possible Salesforce objects that a user can link a JIRA issue to.

  1. Go to Administration and enter your password if prompted.
  2. Click on the Plugins drop down menu and click on the "Remote Issue Links" link in the "Cloud Connectors" section.
  3. This will bring you to the Remote Issue Links screen, which displays a list of expandable system objects for each connector you have configured. Click on the connection name to expand the objects.
  4. A full list of supported objects for Salesforce will be displayed. These are all enabled by default but you may wish to limit these to just a few relevant ones. There are two ways to do this:
    1. To enable/disable the objects individually, click "Enable" or "Disable" in the Actions column for an object.
    2. For bulk enable or disable, the checkbox for each object can be checked, and once the selection is complete, scroll to the bottom of the page and click either the "Enable Selected" or "Disable Selected" button.
    3. To enable or disable all objects, scroll to the bottom of the page and click either the "Select All" or "Select None" link to check or uncheck all the boxes for the objects (see above screenshot) and then click either the "Enable Selected" or "Disable Selected" button.
